Painting was Luis's first language, long before ceramics entered his hands. Shaped early by years in agricultural labor and later by his work as a museum preparator, his eye for form, texture, and material found its way onto canvas years before it found clay.
After time away from painting, he has returned to it — and this collection marks that return. Each piece carries the same instinct for memory and movement that runs through his sculptural work, distilled here into something more immediate and personal.
